Please be very careful with what you assume is just gas pain. Last year, my husband had severe pain in his upper stomach which we thought was acidity, but it turned out to be a gallbladder issue that required surgery. If the pain is intense, radiating to your back, or if you feel sweaty, please go to the hospital right away.

If the gas pain is really severe and not going down even after an hour, please do not ignore it. Sometimes heart-related issues can mimic severe gas or acidity pain in the chest and stomach area. It is always much safer to get an ECG and blood pressure check done at a clinic immediately.

For instant relief from mild, trapped wind, you can try lying down on your left side or drawing your knees to your chest. Taking a warm cup of water can also help relax your gut muscles. But if the severe pain is accompanied by vomiting, fever, or a hard abdomen, skip the home care and see a doctor immediately.

Haan, gas pain can actually make you feel super uncomfortable and heavy. What works for me is drinking warm water with a pinch of hing and black salt, but thoda walk bhi kiya karo khane ke baad. Agar pain phir bhi bohot zyada ho na, toh doctor ko dikha lena chahiye directly.

My gastroenterologist explained that severe gas pain often happens due to bacterial fermentation of certain foods in the large intestine. He advised me to maintain a food diary to identify triggers like dairy or lentils and prescribed a mild enzyme tablet for digestion. He also warned that persistent, severe abdominal pain should always be clinically evaluated.

You can chew on half a teaspoon of carom seeds (ajwain) with a little warm water for quick relief from general gas. A warm heating pad on your belly also helps soothe the cramps. However, if the pain is sharp, continuous, and makes it hard to stand straight, please consult a doctor immediately.
