Forget about heavy lifting or your workout routine for now, your body needs absolute recovery. Sciatica requires a zero-fat or extremely low-fat diet initially so your organs don't have to work hard. Keep it simple, follow the doctor's prescription, and rest up.

I agree, stretching the piriformis muscle really makes a difference. Doing the figure-four stretch while lying down on your back gives amazing relief.

I got so scared when my leg went numb, thinking it was a permanent nerve damage or something. But my doctor reassured me it's just sciatic nerve irritation and can heal with proper care. Please do go see a doctor to ease your anxiety and get the right exercises!

If your doctor says it's okay, a simple 20-minute daily walk can stimulate your bowel movements and relieve the pressure on your lower abdomen. Just avoid heavy squats or intense workouts for now as they can strain the area. Focus on clean eating and stay active.

Ah, the joys of turning 50, where your back decides to send electric shocks down your leg for no reason. I find that a firm mattress and a pillow under my knees at night is the only way I can sleep without groaning. Do see a doc, otherwise we'll both be walking like penguins soon.

That burning chest feeling usually hits me at 3 AM right when I'm finally about to sleep, and it is absolute torture. I've started sleeping with two pillows to keep my head elevated, which honestly helps keep the acid down. But yeah, cutting down on late-night chai is the real, sad solution.

Applying a warm patch or using a hot water bottle on your lower back is highly effective for relaxing those spasming muscles. You can also take a mild muscle relaxant or painkiller, but make sure to ask your doctor or pharmacist about the right one first. Stay hydrated too!
