How to ease neck pain from sleeping wrong?

Almost every other day, I wake up with a terrible crick in my neck, probably from sleeping in a weird position. It takes ages for it to feel normal again. How can I ease neck pain from sleeping wrong?

Man, this happened to me last week and I couldn't even turn my head to look side-ways. I just took a really hot shower to loosen the muscle and used a basic pain relief spray. It went away in about two days on its own.

I know how frustrating a stiff neck is. I have tried everything from heat packs to herbal balms, and I find that a light hot water bag application for ten minutes is the most comforting. Also, try switching to a thinner pillow so your neck stays aligned.

Listen, stop trying to stretch it out forcefully right now or you will tear a muscle. Just apply some basic pain gel, let it rest, and sleep on a flat, supportive mattress tonight. If it still hurts badly tomorrow, go to a clinic.

I totally get it, waking up with a stiff neck can ruin your entire day and make work so miserable. Please take it very easy today and avoid any sudden head movements. A little warmth on the area can bring some immediate comfort.

My mother always tells us to use a thin rolled-up towel under the neck instead of a high pillow when this happens. It really helps support the curve of the neck. But if the stiffness doesn't ease after a couple of days, it is best to visit a doctor.

A sleep crick usually resolves within forty-eight hours as the muscle spasm settles. Apply a mild muscle relaxant gel gently without rubbing too hard. If the pain starts radiating down your arm or you feel numbness, then you should definitely see a doctor.
