How to ease contraction pain?

I'm due any day now, and I'm starting to get some contractions, but they're quite intense. Everyone says to just breathe, but I want some practical ways to ease the contraction pain. What helped others?

I panicked so much during my first labor pain, but the midwives taught me to focus on breathing. Slowly blowing out air like you are blowing a candle really helps ride the wave of pain.

Honestly, during early labor, I just wanted to munch on chocolate, but light coconut water was much better to keep my hydration levels up.

Keeping your energy up is important, but if you have gestational diabetes, stick to sipping simple warm water or sugar-free liquids between contractions.

Labor pain can feel incredibly overwhelming and scary. Just try to focus on one contraction at a time, your body is incredibly strong and built for this.

Make sure you have had some light, digestible food like simple oats porridge or dal water before active labor begins, so you have the physical strength to cope.

For my delivery, walking slowly around the labor room and having my husband massage my lower back made a massive difference in managing the pain.
