Beta, during periods, the back pain can be very troublesome. Keep a hot water bag on your lower back and drink warm ginger or carom seed water. Rest as much as possible and don't do heavy household work.

For menstrual backache, pelvic tilts while lying down work wonderfully to release the pressure. Also, try sleeping in the fetal position with a pillow between your knees to keep your spine aligned. It makes a huge difference.

My period pain and backache became much worse when my thyroid levels were unbalanced. If this is a monthly struggle, please get your TSH and pelvic ultrasound done just to rule out any underlying issues.

I usually stick to hot herbal teas and a heating pad to manage period back pain. However, if the pain is so intense that you cannot stand up or if medicines don't help, you should definitely consult a gynecologist.

I have tried everything from warm mustard oil massages to herbal decoctions over the years. Honestly, a simple heating patch and staying well hydrated works best to ease the muscle cramps in the back. Hope you feel better soon.

Due to my high BP, I cannot take random over-the-counter pain killers for period back pain as they can affect blood pressure and kidneys. I rely purely on warm compresses and light stretching. Do check with your doctor before taking any tablets.
