When the body has a fever, it is fighting an infection, so we must rest completely. Putting a cool, damp cotton cloth on the forehead helps soothe the heat gently. Keep your breath slow and deep, and drink warm water to stay hydrated.
Just take a basic paracetamol like Crocin if the fever is mild, and rest. But if the temperature is above 101°F or doesn't go down in 2 days, stop self-medicating and go straight to a doctor. You need proper blood tests to rule out dengue or malaria.
When you have a fever, please stop all workouts and gym sessions immediately, your body needs that energy to heal. Eat light khichdi and drink plenty of electrolytes to replace lost fluids. Don't rush back to training until you are fully recovered.
When I get a fever, I immediately consult a doctor online to get the correct prescription rather than waiting. Keep a digital thermometer handy to log your temperature every few hours so you can show the reading to the doctor. Don't take chances with your health.
Please don't keep popping pills to suppress a high fever. I once ignored a continuous fever for five days thinking it was just a viral cold, and it turned out to be severe typhoid that landed me in the ICU. Go get checked by a medical professional immediately.
