How to draw pain?

Sometimes it's hard to explain to my family how much pain I'm in, especially when I have my migraines. I wish I could just draw it out for them to understand. Are there any common ways people visualize or draw pain?

Honestly, if I have to show pain in a sketch, I just draw jagged zigzag lines or lightning bolts around a joint. It is the easiest way to represent that sharp, sudden feeling in any basic drawing.

When you want to depict pain, showing a figure hunched over or holding their lower back is very effective. But if you are experiencing real, persistent physical pain, please don't ignore it and get proper blood tests and a doctor's consultation.

Beta, just draw a simple picture of someone sitting down with their hand on their head or knee. That shows the trouble and pain very clearly so anyone can understand it easily.

To draw pain, just look at my face in the mirror on a Monday morning after three hours of sleep. Seriously, just draw a face with squeezed eyes and tight, wavy lines near the forehead or temples.

Draw a little stick figure looking at a plate of spicy golgappas but holding their stomach in agony. That is the ultimate way to show the pain of a bad stomach after a street food binge!
