How to do the splits without pain?

I've always wanted to do the splits, but every time I try, it feels like I'm going to tear something, and it's quite painful. I see dancers doing it so effortlessly. What's the secret? How can I do the splits without pain, or at least minimize it while stretching?

I always see people doing splits so easily on Instagram and wonder if my stiff hamstrings could ever do that. Is it actually possible for an average adult to achieve this, or do you have to be born flexible?

You don't need any expensive stretching classes for this. Just practice basic leg stretches daily at home after a warm bath when your muscles are already warm. Use cushions or pillows under your hips to support your weight as you gradually go lower.

Honestly, with my lack of sleep and back stiffness, if I try a split right now, I will probably end up in the emergency room! Please go very slow, my body aches just thinking about it.

Doing splits is a long process, yaar. You actually have to work on your hip flexors and hamstrings daily for months. Don't expect magic in a week, otherwise direct ligament tear ho jayega.

I used a flexibility training app that has a 30-day split challenge, and it really helped. It guides you to hold passive stretches for 30-60 seconds and tracks your daily progress, which keeps you consistent without overstretching.

Splits require intense hip mobility and hamstring flexibility. Start with a light 10-minute walk to warm up your muscles, and never stretch to the point of sharp pain. If you have any joint or hip issues, ask your doctor before pushing your body.

Please be very careful. I once ignored a sharp pull in my groin while stretching, thinking it was just normal soreness, and ended up with a chronic muscle tear that took six months to heal. If you feel any sharp pain, stop stretching and get it checked by a doctor.

I always worry that I might tear a muscle or dislocate my hip if I push too hard during deep stretches. Please listen to your body and stop immediately if you feel any burning or pulling sensation. It is better to be safe than sorry.
