How to diagnose cirrhosis of liver?

My uncle, who has a history of heavy drinking, has been feeling very weak and bloated. Someone mentioned it could be cirrhosis of the liver. How do doctors diagnose cirrhosis, what are the common tests for it?

Bro, you can't diagnose this at home. My uncle had some symptoms and the doctor ordered an ultrasound and some blood tests called LFT first. Don't sit on it, just go to a good gastroenterologist and get it checked properly.

Honestly, it can be really stressful when you are searching about liver issues online. In my family, we faced something similar and a simple blood test and physical exam by a specialist cleared all doubts. Please book an appointment with a physician instead of worrying.

Exactly, diagnosing cirrhosis requires proper clinical evaluation. Usually, docs will look at your blood reports, do a physical check for any swelling, and then suggest an ultrasound or even an MRI if needed. Don't worry, just take the first step and meet a doc.

I agree with Rohan. A proper fibroscan or ultrasound is usually what doctors recommend to see the actual condition of the liver.

My grandmother used to suggest various herbal drinks for liver health, but for serious things like cirrhosis, only a medical expert can help. We must trust the doctors and get the prescribed liver function tests done at a good lab. Wishing you good health.
