How to diagnose back pain?

I've had back pain off and on for years, but lately it's getting worse, especially after sitting for long periods. I want to finally get it checked properly. What all tests are usually done to diagnose the cause of back pain?

In our time, we used to apply warm mustard oil infused with garlic to soothe backaches. It really helps with muscle stiffness. However, if the pain travels down your legs, please consult an orthopedic doctor as it could be a nerve issue.

I had terrible lower back pain last month due to bad posture at my desk. My physiotherapist diagnosed it as a muscle strain and helped me fix it with simple core exercises. Try to get a professional assessment if the pain doesn't go away in a week.

Hey, back pain is so annoying, especially if you have to sit for long hours. Usually, it's just a muscle spasm, but if it's really sharp or persistent, it's best to see an orthopedic doctor. In the meantime, try using a heating pad for some relief.

Please don't try crazy chiropractic cracks you see on social media for back pain. It can make a slipped disc much worse. Go to a certified medical doctor, get a physical exam, and let them decide if you need an X-ray or MRI.

Back pain is the worst! Try lying down flat on a yoga mat and doing some gentle knee-to-chest stretches. If it is a sharp pain that won't let you sit, definitely skip the home cures and see a physiotherapist soon.

For normal backaches, first check if your mattress is too soft or if you are slouching on the chair. Try sleeping on a firm surface and doing basic back stretches. If there is no improvement in 4-5 days, just go to a local orthopedic doctor for an X-ray.
