How to diagnose autoimmune hepatitis?

My sister was feeling really tired and her skin looked a bit yellowish, so she went to the doctor. The doctor said something about autoimmune hepatitis, and we are quite worried. How exactly do they diagnose such a condition?

Hey, don't stress too much reading scary things online. Autoimmune hepatitis is something only a doctor can diagnose after doing specific blood tests like ANA and liver function panels. Just book a consultation and let the experts handle it, you'll be fine!

I totally get it, waiting for a diagnosis or suspecting something complex like autoimmune hepatitis can be incredibly stressful. It usually requires blood tests for specific antibodies and sometimes a liver biopsy. Stay strong, and take it one doctor visit at a time.

My grandmother always suggests drinking warm cumin water for any liver heaviness, but for autoimmune conditions, we must strictly trust modern medicine. A gastroenterologist will check your immunoglobulins and guide you correctly. Please visit a hospital.

I agree with the others. Only a specialist doctor can diagnose this after doing a detailed blood workup and maybe a scan, so please visit a hepatologist soon.

Instead of spending hours researching rare symptoms online, just book a liver function test (LFT) and an autoimmune panel through a lab app. Take those reports directly to a hepatologist. It saves time and prevents unnecessary panic.

Please do not ignore persistent fatigue or yellowish eyes. I once ignored simple liver symptoms thinking it was just bad food, and it led to severe complications later. Get a proper medical checkup immediately if you suspect autoimmune hepatitis.

I cannot comment on medical treatments, but when my cousin was being evaluated for autoimmune hepatitis, her doctor did a series of blood tests and a liver biopsy to confirm it. Getting a specialist's opinion early was the best thing she did.
