How to diagnose active tb?

A relative of mine has been having a persistent cough and fever. The doctor suggested testing for TB. How do they diagnose active TB in someone?

I have had a mild cough for three weeks and sweating at night, and I am so scared. Did anyone else experience similar symptoms before their active TB test came positive? I am planning to see a doctor tomorrow.

Active TB is diagnosed through specific medical tests like a sputum test, chest X-ray, or Mantoux skin test. It is highly treatable, but self-diagnosis is impossible. You should consult a pulmonologist or visit a government health clinic for an accurate checkup.

Hey, please don't worry or lose sleep over this. If you or a family member has a persistent cough, fever, or weight loss, just go get a simple sputum test done at a lab. It is a very common condition in India and completely curable with proper timely medicine.

I just completed my 6-month TB course last month. My doctor diagnosed it after a chest X-ray and a sputum culture because my cough wouldn't go away. Don't delay the checkup, once you start the daily DOTS medication, you will start feeling better within two weeks.

I totally get it, hearing the word TB can make anyone feel very anxious and overwhelmed. But honestly, modern medicine has made it so easy to treat now. Just visit a doctor, get the sputum and blood tests done, and you will get through this with proper care.

Please keep your mind positive and do not let fear take over. Go to a good doctor and get the required tests done peacefully. With correct care, clean air, and the right medicines, your body will recover its strength very soon.
