How to determine kidney problems?

My father has been feeling very tired and swollen feet sometimes. We're a bit worried about his kidneys. What are some early signs or symptoms that could indicate kidney problems so we know if we need to get him checked seriously?

It's so emotionally draining when you suspect something is wrong with your body, especially vital organs like kidneys. I understand the anxiety. Please know you're not alone in these feelings. The best way to get peace of mind and accurate answers is to see a doctor.

As someone with high BP, I have to be extra careful about my kidneys, as it's a major risk factor. My doctor always does regular blood and urine tests to check kidney function. If you have BP or diabetes, these regular checkups are crucial to catch any problems early.

I get so worried about every little ache in my lower back, thinking it could be kidney related. Does anyone else get super anxious about this? How do you know if it's just a muscle pain or actually a kidney problem? It's confusing.

I've been looking this up too, and it seems like swelling in your feet or face, feeling really tired, and changes in how often you urinate can be signs. But from what I read, only blood and urine tests can really confirm it. It's not something you can tell just by symptoms.

For kidney problems, you definitely need to see a doctor, man. They'll do proper blood tests to check creatinine and eGFR, and also a urine test for protein. Staying hydrated is always good, and a balanced diet with regular exercise supports overall health, but for diagnosis, it's strictly medical.

Kidney problems can be silent, which is why regular check-ups are so important. Look out for swelling in your hands or feet, changes in urine color or frequency, persistent fatigue, or unexplained back pain. If you notice these, please consult a doctor for blood and urine tests right away. Don't delay!
