How to detect asthma in adults?

I've been having this persistent cough and sometimes feel breathless, especially at night. My sister has asthma, but I never had it as a child. Is it possible to develop asthma in adulthood, and how can I tell if these symptoms mean it's asthma?

Yaar, asthma in adults can be tricky, actually. Look out for persistent coughing, especially at night or after exercise. Shortness of breath, chest tightness, and a whistling sound when breathing (wheezing) are also big red flags. If you or someone you know has these symptoms, get it checked by a doctor, don't ignore it.

I used to panic every time I got a persistent cough, thinking it might be something serious. But for asthma, it's usually more than just a cough. Look for wheezing, feeling breathless even after light activity, and a tight chest. If these symptoms are recurring, please consult a doctor. It's often manageable once diagnosed.

Namaste. In adults, asthma can often be identified by recurring breathlessness, a persistent cough especially at night, a feeling of tightness in the chest, and a whistling sound (wheezing) when exhaling. These symptoms can be triggered by dust or exertion. Gentle breathing exercises like anulom-vilom can help manage symptoms, but please consult a doctor for diagnosis.

My child has asthma, and I've learned that in adults, it presents similarly: persistent cough, a wheezing sound when breathing, feeling like a weight is on your chest, and shortness of breath. Often, it gets worse at night. If you see these signs, please take it seriously and visit a doctor. Early diagnosis and management make a huge difference.

Detecting asthma in adults involves looking for key symptoms like recurrent episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and coughing. These symptoms often worsen at night or early morning, or are triggered by exercise, cold air, or allergens. If you notice any of these, it's safer to get a pulmonary function test done by a doctor to confirm.

One should look for recurrent episodes of shortness of breath, a dry cough that doesn't go away, and a tight feeling in the chest. These can be triggered by cold or sometimes even certain foods. While diet is important for overall health, for suspected asthma, it is vital to get a medical diagnosis and not just rely on changing food habits.

Asthma in adults can show up as a cough that just won't go away, or a feeling of breathlessness, especially after you've been active. Sometimes you hear a whistling sound when they breathe. While steam inhalation and warm drinks can offer some comfort for minor respiratory issues, for persistent symptoms like these, it's crucial to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.
