How to deal with tooth extraction pain?

I had a tooth extracted yesterday, and the pain is still quite sharp. The dentist gave me some painkillers, but I'm looking for other ways to manage the discomfort too. How can I deal with tooth extraction pain more effectively?

For something like tooth extraction, definitely stick to what your dentist prescribed for pain. Don't go trying random internet remedies like putting garlic or cloves on the wound, it could lead to infection. Always verify with your actual doctor, not online advice.

Tooth extraction pain is rough! After my wisdom tooth, I just used a cold compress on my cheek and ate only soft foods like dal-chawal. It helped a lot. But if you have fever or severe swelling, please don't just rely on home remedies, see your dentist immediately.

Tooth extraction pain? Oh, I remember that! It was like my tooth decided to take revenge after being evicted. 😂 I just took the pain meds they gave me and tried to sleep through the worst of it. Sleep was the only escape from that throbbing. Ugh, the struggle is real.

Tooth extraction sounds really painful. How long does the pain usually last? Do they give you strong painkillers or is it something you just have to deal with? I'm curious because I might need one soon.

When I had a tooth extracted, I focused on eating only soft, cool foods for the first few days, like dahi and mashed potato. And strictly followed the rinsing instructions my dentist gave. I can only say this is what worked for my recovery, not medical advice for anyone else.
