How to cut acidity in chili?

My wife loves spicy food, but sometimes the curries become too acidic and give us heartburn. Is there a way to cut acidity in chili while cooking? We don't want to compromise on the taste.

For chili, if you mean reducing its acidity for cooking, adding a pinch of sugar or jaggery at the end can balance the taste. My mother often does this for curries. But if it's about your own acidity from eating chili, then you need to avoid it or eat very little. For persistent acidity, a doctor is best.

Cutting acidity in chili? My friend, the only way to truly cut chili's acidity for *my* stomach is to not eat it! Haha. But for cooking, a little sugar or a creamy base like coconut milk helps. If your own acidity is the issue, then just wave goodbye to spicy food for a bit, my friend.

My doctor, when discussing managing my acidity, actually mentioned how chili can trigger it. For culinary purposes, adding a bit of baking soda (very carefully, it reacts!), sugar, or even some dairy/coconut milk can neutralize the acidity and heat. But for personal acidity, the real 'cure' is reducing chili intake itself.

I totally get the struggle! Sometimes a recipe needs that chili punch but you also want to cut the harsh acidity. Adding a spoonful of jaggery, or some rich coconut milk, or even a little bit of cashew paste can mellow it out beautifully without compromising flavor too much.

For chili in cooking, a small amount of jaggery or a touch of tomato paste (which is acidic but complex) can round it out. If you're experiencing acidity from eating chili, then you need to manage your diet, as doctor visits and tests can get expensive. Start with simple food first, see if that helps.

Cutting acidity in chili for recipes can be tricky, I always worry about ruining the dish! A little bit of sugar or honey can balance the pH. Or sometimes, adding a creamy element like yogurt or fresh cream really helps. But if you're getting acidity from eating chili, maybe try reducing the quantity or cooking it less spicy, it's safer.

If you're asking how to reduce chili's acidity *for cooking*, adding a tiny bit of sugar or some rich ingredients like cashew paste can help. But if you're experiencing acidity *because* of chili, please don't ignore it. I ignored my acidity, and it led to gastritis. Get it checked if it's a regular problem.

When trying to reduce acidity in chili for cooking, adding a pinch of baking soda can work, but use very little. If you're using sugar or jaggery, be mindful of the quantity if you're diabetic. For personal acidity, it's best to reduce your intake of chili altogether, as it can be a major trigger.
