How to cure periodontitis gum disease at home?

My gums are inflamed, and my dentist suspects I might have periodontitis. I'm looking for things I can do at home to help manage it before my next appointment. What are some home remedies for periodontitis gum disease?

Yaar, 'cure' at home for periodontitis is a bit tricky, honestly. For mild gum issues, maybe salt water rinse helps, ya neem datun bhi theek hai. But if it's periodontitis, which is serious, you *actually* need a dentist. Home remedies can support, but not cure the main problem.

While dental hygiene is key, some holistic practices can support gum health. Oil pulling with sesame or coconut oil for 10-15 minutes in the morning is often suggested in Ayurveda. Gentle gum massage with a tiny bit of clove oil can also be soothing. But this is alongside medical treatment.

My son had some gum issues too. What we do at home, apart from regular brushing and flossing, is make him rinse with warm salt water after meals. And I make sure he eats enough fruits and veggies for vitamins. But the dentist said these are only for general care, not a cure for advanced disease.

Look, for gum health, it's not just about what you do inside your mouth. Your overall health plays a role. Eating nutrient-dense foods, especially those high in antioxidants and Omega-3s, can help reduce inflammation. And reducing sugary snacks definitely helps prevent bacteria build-up. But for periodontitis, see a dentist for sure.

I'm not sure how serious my gum problem is, but can simple things like warm water and salt gargle help? Or maybe some special mouthwash from the chemist? I'm a bit scared to go to the dentist directly, but want to start with something.

I got scared when my gums started bleeding, and tried a lot of home remedies first. Some worked a little for mild inflammation, like rinsing with green tea. But for actual periodontitis, you NEED a dentist to clean deeply. Don't worry, it's treatable, just don't delay professional help.
