How to cure a week long migraine?

I've been suffering from a migraine for almost a week now, and it's severely affecting my daily life. The usual painkillers aren't helping much. What can I do to finally get rid of this persistent headache?

A week-long migraine is truly debilitating, I can only imagine the pain. While things like dark, quiet rooms and specific pain relievers can offer temporary relief, for something this severe and prolonged, consulting a neurologist is absolutely critical. They can identify triggers and prescribe targeted treatment.

Wow, a week-long migraine sounds awful. I used to get migraines, not for a week, but they were bad. What helped me was figuring out my triggers – turns out certain cheeses and red wine were culprits. Cutting them out made a big difference, along with some prescribed medication. Everyone's different, though.

Listen, a migraine lasting a week is a serious medical issue. Please don't try to 'cure' it at home. You need to see a doctor, ideally a neurologist, as soon as possible. They can prescribe specific medication for acute attacks and preventive measures. Your well-being is important.

Beta, that much pain for so long is not good. Don't suffer in silence. I remember my sister used to get migraines, and it was only after she saw a proper doctor that she got some relief. Sometimes it's a deficiency, sometimes it's stress. Go get it checked, don't worry.

A week-long migraine sounds so scary! Is it very different from a regular headache? What kind of doctor should one see for this, a general physician or a specialist? I'm curious because I get frequent headaches too.
