After eating anything a little spicy or oily, I get this burning sensation in my chest. My father also has acidity issues, so I'm wondering if there are some simple ways to control it without always taking medicine.

Acidity can be really uncomfortable. For me, because I manage diabetes, I have to be very careful with my diet. I avoid spicy and oily food, and also sugary drinks which can sometimes worsen acidity. Small, frequent meals work best.
Acidity makes me so anxious, especially if it happens at night! I find that avoiding late-night meals and not lying down right after eating really helps. Also, try to identify your trigger foods. For some, it's coffee, for others, it's anything spicy.
Home remedies like drinking a glass of cold milk or chewing a few basil leaves can give quick relief. Also, try to eat a banana. But if you have it very frequently or it's severe, it's important to consult a doctor, don't just rely on home remedies for long.
Acidity can really mess up your day. To curb it without spending too much on antacids, try keeping a food diary. This helps you figure out what triggers it. Prevention is always cheaper than cure, especially with medical tests these days.
I use a health app to track my diet and noticed acidity would flare up after certain foods. Keeping a log can help identify patterns. Also, many apps have reminders for drinking water, which is super important for digestion and can help prevent acidity. Stay hydrated!
I heard drinking coconut water helps with acidity, is that true? Also, some people say avoiding acidic fruits like oranges when you have it. It's confusing trying to figure out all the dos and don'ts.
Yaar, acidity is the worst! I find that actually avoiding chai on an empty stomach helps a lot. And less spicy food, obviously. For immediate relief, sometimes I just drink some cold water or a little bit of pudina water. It works for me.
