How to cope with period pain?

My period pain is always so bad, sometimes I can't even go to college. What are some effective ways to cope with severe period pain without just relying on painkillers?

My daughter used to have terrible cramps every month. We found that a hot water bottle, a warm cup of ginger tea, and avoiding cold drinks helped her a lot. But if the pain makes her miss school, I always take her to our gynecologist for a proper checkup.

For period pain, a warm hot water bag on the lower back provides great comfort. Since I manage diabetes, I avoid sugary comforting drinks and stick to warm herbal teas instead. If the pain is extremely severe, please consult a gynecologist rather than suffering in silence.

I used to have debilitating period pain, but regular light stretches and keeping a heating pad handy made a massive difference. Also, keeping track of my cycle and staying well-hydrated helps a lot. Don't hesitate to take a doctor-prescribed painkiller if the cramps are unbearable.

Totally agree with using a heating pad. Doing some very light, gentle walking also helps release the muscle tension.

I recently started having very painful periods and using a hot bag helps a little bit. Is it safe to drink ginger water during those days, or should I directly ask a doctor about medicines?
