How to cook kidney beans in slow cooker?

I bought a slow cooker recently and want to try making rajma chawal, but I'm not sure about the cooking time for kidney beans in it. Any tips on how to cook kidney beans properly in a slow cooker so they turn out soft?

I always pre-boil my kidney beans on a normal stove for 15 minutes before putting them in the slow cooker to make sure all toxins are gone. If you ever experience sudden vomiting or severe stomach pain after eating slow-cooked beans, please see a doctor immediately.

I cook kidney beans in my slow cooker because slow cooking helps retain nutrients which is great for my PCOS diet. I always make sure to boil them first on high stove heat for safety, though please see what suits your own gut health.

Please do not take slow cooker bean safety lightly. I ignored intense nausea after eating undercooked beans from a slow cooker, thinking it would pass, and ended up severely dehydrated in the hospital. Get checked immediately if you feel sick.

Slow-cooked kidney beans are a solid source of clean protein. After eating a hearty meal like this, a nice 20-minute walk helps prevent any bloating, provided your doctor has cleared you for daily exercise.

Don't believe people online who say you can throw raw kidney beans directly into a slow cooker; it doesn't get hot enough to kill the toxins. Always verify food safety guidelines with a professional or your doctor before trying slow cooker recipes.
