How to cook cabbage for diabetics?

My wife has diabetes, and I'm trying to incorporate more vegetables into her diet. I bought some cabbage, but I'm not sure what's the best way to cook it for diabetics. How should I prepare cabbage for her?

My grandmother's clinical nutritionist at the hospital suggested cooking cabbage with very little oil and avoiding any potatoes or peas mixed in. Always ask your dietitian about the right portion size that fits your daily meal plan.

I stir-fry cabbage with mustard seeds and curry leaves using just half a teaspoon of oil. Keeping your sodium intake low while cooking vegetables is also very important for managing blood pressure along with diabetes.

I read that raw or lightly steamed cabbage is actually better for keeping the glycemic index low because overcooking can break down the fiber. Lightly sautéing it for just 3-4 minutes seems to be the best way.

A simple warm bowl of shredded cabbage soup with garlic and black pepper is very soothing and perfectly safe for your blood sugar levels. Take care and stay healthy.

I used to be so terrified of eating anything with carbs when I was first diagnosed. But simple dry cabbage sabzi cooked with turmeric and cumin became my go-to safe food. It is highly filling and doesn't cause any scary sugar spikes.

Cabbage is generally excellent for diabetics due to its low carb content, but please wash it thoroughly with warm water to remove any pesticides. Also, make sure to monitor your blood sugar levels regularly to see how different foods affect you.
