How to control osteoarthritis pain?

My doctor diagnosed me with osteoarthritis in my knees, and the pain is constant now. It makes walking and even sitting difficult. Are there any good ways to control osteoarthritis pain that don't involve heavy medication?

I totally get it, that constant aching in the knees makes even standing up feel like a huge task. On really bad days, applying a warm compress helps ease the stiffness. Just take it one day at a time, my friend.

Haan na, this joint pain gets so bad during cold weather. I use warm sesame oil mixed with a little camphor for massage, and it gives good relief. But we must not do heavy work when it is paining, resting is also important.

In my experience, gentle stretching without putting too much weight on the joints is very beneficial. Try doing light knee extensions while sitting on a chair. Regular practice keeps the joints lubricated and reduces pain naturally.

My mother suffers from osteoarthritis, and we have found that low-impact joint mobility exercises are best. She also takes fish oil supplements which have helped reduce the overall stiffness. Hope you find some relief soon.

I have been living with this for fifteen years now. Don't worry, your life doesn't stop because of arthritis. Just keep your weight under control so there is less pressure on your knees, and keep moving daily.
