I can only tell you what helped me. I started drinking warm water with a squeeze of lemon in the morning, and I stopped drinking tea on an empty stomach. This small change really reduced my morning bloating and gas.
I suffered from severe acidity for years until I made some simple changes. Drinking a glass of cold milk or chewing a few fennel seeds (saunf) after meals works wonders. Also, never lie down immediately after dinner; walk for 10 minutes.
At my age, digestion naturally slows down and causes gas. In my experience, eating light home-cooked meals and finishing dinner by 7:30 PM is the best natural cure. You don't need heavy medicines if you adjust your eating times.
With my PCOS, bloating and acidity are very common. Having a little bit of ajwain (carom seeds) with warm water usually gives me quick relief. But please be careful and see a doctor if your acidity is constant or causes chest pain.
Occasional gas is fine, but chronic acidity can irritate your stomach lining. While home remedies like buttermilk or ginger help, it is best to consult a doctor if it persists, to rule out any underlying issues like H. pylori infection.
I know how scary it feels when acidity causes chest tightness and makes you feel anxious. Don't worry, it is most likely just gas; try sitting upright and sipping warm water slowly. It will pass soon, just relax.
