I've had eczema patches on my hands and arms since childhood, and they get worse sometimes. It's very itchy and unsightly. What can I do to control eczema better?

I wasted months trying random creams for my itchy skin before going to a dermatologist at a proper hospital. She diagnosed it as eczema and prescribed specific non-steroidal ointments. Please ask your doctor clearly what will work for your skin type instead of self-treating.

I tried everything from neem paste to turmeric, but honestly, only a good fragrance-free moisturizer and occasional doctor-prescribed steroid creams during flares helped. Don't suffer through home remedies if they aren't working for you.

I noticed my skin itching increases whenever I binge on spicy street food or sugary desserts. I try to balance my love for food by drinking lots of water and eating cooling foods like curd. It really helps keep the skin happy!

I noticed a significant improvement in my skin inflammation after I cut out processed foods and increased my intake of flaxseeds and walnuts. While diet plays a big role, please track your own trigger foods carefully as everyone's body reacts differently.

For skin dryness and itching, applying pure cold-pressed coconut oil right after a bath can give great relief. But you must be very gentle and not scrub the dry areas. If the skin is red and oozing, please consult a skin doctor immediately.

Skin issues can sometimes look like eczema but could be a different fungal or allergic issue. Please don't self-diagnose; get it checked by a qualified skin specialist first to be absolutely safe.

I always get so worried that my eczema will spread or get infected whenever I see a new red patch. If you are also feeling anxious, just know you are not alone and it's highly manageable. Just keep checking in with your dermatologist to stay safe.

My son had severe eczema behind his knees and elbows. We stopped using commercial soaps, switched entirely to gentle soap-free cleansers, and cut his nails short to prevent scratching during sleep. It takes patience but it gets better.

My doctor explained that eczema is a skin barrier issue, so keeping moisture locked in is vital. He told me to use ceramide-based moisturizers on damp skin within three minutes of bathing. Also, he advised me to identify personal triggers like dust mites or certain fabrics.

You don't need expensive creams to manage this; just switch to basic baby soaps and apply pure vaseline on dry patches. Also, wear loose cotton clothes because synthetic materials make you sweat and cause severe itching.

Eczema flares up with stress and long desk hours in air conditioning. I keep a heavy, fragrance-free moisturizer on my office desk and apply it 3-4 times a day. It takes just two minutes but keeps the itchy patches under control.

Look, simple rule: stop using heavily scented soaps and hot water for baths, they dry out your skin completely. Buy a basic doctor-recommended body wash and moisturize immediately. Do this for a week and you will see a huge difference.
