How to control dandruff?

My scalp has been super itchy and flaky lately, and I think it's dandruff. It's quite embarrassing and makes my hair look dull. What are some good ways to control dandruff effectively?

Yaar dandruff is the worst, actually mere black t-shirts pe dikhta tha toh I got so conscious. I started using a ketoconazole shampoo twice a week and kept my scalp dry. Don't oil your hair too much, it makes the dandruff worse because the fungus feeds on that oil.

Honestly, I tried every random shampoo and oil for my dandruff but nothing worked. Finally I went to a proper dermatologist at Apollo and she explained that dandruff is often a fungal issue that needs specific medical lotion. Don't waste time experimenting on your scalp, just ask your doctor clearly what will suit you.

Haan, neem water is really good for this, na. I boil neem leaves and use that water for the final rinse after washing my hair. Par agar bohot itching hai toh better consult a doctor once instead of experimenting too much at home.

My shoulders used to look like a mini snowfall zone every winter, trust me! I just stopped wearing dark colors for a while till I fixed it with a basic anti-dandruff routine. Keep it simple, wash your hair regularly, and don't worry, your hair is not planning a permanent exit just yet.

I agree that keeping your scalp clean is key. Try avoiding hot water for head baths as it dries out the skin and increases dandruff.
