When I was first diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I felt like my life was over and I could never enjoy food again. It took me a long time to accept it emotionally. Please don't be too hard on yourself, it is a journey and you can absolutely manage it with time.

As a vegetarian, I had to completely restructure my meals because our diet is very high in carbs like rice and potatoes. I started replacing white rice with foxtail millet and increased my intake of green leafy vegetables and dal. Diet control is fifty percent of the battle.

I tried to self-manage my diabetes with basic home remedies for years until my vision started getting blurry. Please do not make that mistake. You must consult a good endocrinologist regularly and get your HbA1c and kidney function tested as advised.

My father was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and we are very scared. The doctor suggested some changes in his daily routine, but I wanted to ask if going for a walk immediately after dinner really helps in lowering the morning sugar levels? Any tips would be very reassuring.

Do other people also experience sudden weakness or shakiness in the evening if they eat lunch a bit late? I got diagnosed recently and these physical changes really make me nervous. I always wonder if my body will ever feel normal again.

I completely understand the panic and stress you feel when you see high numbers on your glucose monitor. It used to make my heart race every single morning. Take a deep breath, these numbers can be managed slowly with daily walks and a proper doctor's plan.

Please do not fall for online advertisements promising to 'reverse' diabetes in 30 days with some powders. Diabetes management requires scientifically proven lifestyle changes and often medication. Always verify any health claim with your treating doctor first.
