How to cleanse a fatty liver?

My doctor detected a mild fatty liver during my routine check-up. He said I need to make lifestyle changes. Are there specific steps or foods that can help to cleanse a fatty liver effectively?

I was diagnosed with Grade 1 fatty liver last year because of too much junk food. I just stopped ordering outside food, started walking 45 minutes daily, and cut down on sugar. My reports came back completely normal in four months.

My doctor explained that fatty liver is basically fat stored in liver cells, so you can't just 'wash' it away with a drink. The only scientific way is a calorie-deficit diet, regular cardio, and avoiding fructose and alcohol.

My doctor also mentioned I have a mild fatty liver and I am a bit scared. Does walking daily really help reduce it, or do we have to take medications for this?

In our family, we use buttermilk with ginger and curry leaves to aid digestion. However, for fatty liver, my doctor clearly advised losing weight and avoiding simple carbs, which helped me the most.

Managing PCOS means I have to be very careful with fatty liver risks too. I don't believe in quick cleanses; instead, I focus on a low-glycemic diet and strength training. Please consult a doctor before starting any strong herbal supplements.

Totally agree with focusing on daily exercise, it is the only real way to reduce liver fat.

Drinking warm water with fresh lemon and eating garlic helps boost metabolism naturally. But if you have constant pain in the right side of your stomach or yellowing of the skin, please go see a doctor immediately.
