How to clean sleep apnea machine?

I recently got a sleep apnea machine, and the instructions are a bit confusing on maintenance. How often and how do I properly clean my sleep apnea machine to keep it hygienic and working well?

Just wash the mask and tubing weekly in warm water with mild baby soap, then let them air dry completely.

I tried cleaning my husband's CPAP mask with vinegar once, but the smell was too strong for him at night. Plain warm water and mild baby liquid soap is the most practical way. Do it weekly and make sure everything is completely dry before using.

My sleep specialist explained that mold can easily grow in the humid environment of the CPAP water chamber. He recommended washing the tub and mask every morning with warm water and liquid soap, and replacing the disposable filters every month without fail.

Cleaning it is easier than trying to sleep with a dusty mask that makes you sneeze all night! Just soak the tube in soapy water, rinse it well, and hang it over the shower head to dry. Keeps you breathing clean and looking like a polite astronaut.

When we got the machine from the hospital, the technician clearly instructed us to change the water in the chamber daily with distilled water. Never use tap water as it builds up white scale. Ask your hospital service provider for the exact manual.
