How to check thyroid gland in neck at home pictures?

Someone at my office was talking about how you can sometimes see swelling in your neck if you have thyroid issues. Is there a way to check my thyroid gland in the neck at home, perhaps with some visual cues or pictures to guide me?

Haan na, looking at pictures online can be so confusing and scary. Better to just look in your own mirror, drink some water, and see if there is any visible bulge rising as you swallow.

I tried checking those online self-test diagrams too, but they aren't very clear. I just logged my symptoms on my health app and it suggested booking a basic home thyroid blood panel instead of guessing from pictures.

Checking neck pictures won't give a clear answer and might waste time. A basic TSH blood test costs only around 200 to 300 rupees these days, which is much better than worrying over random photos.

Please don't stare at those internet pictures too much, they made me feel like I had a huge goitre when it was actually completely normal. If you feel any physical discomfort while swallowing, definitely see a doc right away.

I panicked so badly last year thinking my neck looked swollen compared to online anatomy photos. Turned out it was just my normal throat structure and my blood test reports were totally fine.

Hey, don't stress too much about those Google images, they always show the worst cases! Just do the simple water-swallowing test in front of a mirror, and if you still feel anxious, let's get a quick lab test done.

I spent half the night looking at throat pictures with my phone light and convinced myself my neck looked weird. Honestly, save your sleep and just get a doctor to feel it if you are worried.
