How to check kidney function at home?

I'm trying to be more proactive about my health, especially as I'm getting older. Are there any simple ways or indicators to check kidney function from home without going to a clinic?

I recently had a kidney scare and searched for home tests, but let me tell you, they don't work. The only way to check at home is to have a lab technician come over to collect blood and urine samples for a KFT. Don't trust self-strips.

I get really anxious when I see slight swelling in my feet and worry if my kidneys are fine. Does anyone else get these anxious thoughts? I realized trying to check at home just makes me worry more, so I'm getting a lab test.

Yaar, you can't actually check kidney function by yourself at home. You can book a home sample collection through any medical app, which is super convenient, but the actual testing has to happen in a professional lab.

I know many people suggest drinking herbal teas to 'flush' kidneys, but you cannot measure how well your kidneys are functioning without medical help. Please book a home blood collection for a creatinine test to get accurate results.

Instead of worrying or buying unreliable test kits online, just book a routine Kidney Function Test (KFT). It costs around 300 to 500 rupees, and a lab guy will come to your home to take the sample. It's the most practical way.

You can't test it directly yourself, but you can use health apps to book a home sample collection for a Renal Function Test. The app will track your eGFR and creatinine levels, making it very easy to monitor over time.

Due to my chronic thyroid health issues, I learned that you cannot monitor organ function with home symptoms alone. Please get a proper laboratory KFT done by ordering a home collection service and consult a doctor.
