How to check for kidney stones?

My neighbour was suffering badly from kidney stones, and I've heard they are very painful. How can someone check for kidney stones, or know if they are developing them? I'm worried about getting them.

Ho na, kidney stones ka naam sunke hi dar lagta hai. You can't really check at home, but the pain, oh god, the pain is unmistakable! If you get a sudden, sharp, severe pain in your back or side, that comes in waves, aur neeche pet tak jaye, toh ho sakta hai. Aur haan, if your pee looks cloudy or has blood, then definitely see a doctor for a scan. Haan na, better safe.

Beti, kidney stones ka dard toh insaan ko behaal kar deta hai. Agar tumhe bohot tez dard ho, kamar se pet tak, aur woh dard aate-jaate rahe, toh samajh lena. Kabhi-kabhi peshab mein blood bhi aa sakta hai. Yeh sab ghar pe 'check' nahi hota, bas lakshan dikhte hain. Doctor ke paas jaao, wohi ultrasound karake sahi batayenge.

My niece had kidney stones, and it was really tough to see her in so much pain. For kids or adults, the biggest sign is excruciating pain in the back or side, often going down to the groin. Sometimes they'll have nausea, fever, or blood in their urine. You can't confirm at home, but if these symptoms appear, rush to the doctor for an ultrasound or CT scan. Don't wait.

I had kidney stones and ignored the initial discomfort, which led to a lot of complications. Please don't make that mistake. If you get sudden, severe pain in your back or side, or experience bloody or cloudy urine, immediately see a doctor. They will usually do an ultrasound or CT scan to locate the stone. Delaying it can be very dangerous.

Kidney stones? Ugh, sounds like it would ruin all the joy of eating! You definitely can't 'check' for them with a recipe book. But if you're suddenly doubled over with pain in your back, or your pee looks a bit reddish, then it's time to put down the biryani and call the doc. No amount of hydratation at home will tell you the size of the stone!

For kidney stones, honestly, you should never try to self-diagnose. The symptoms can be very severe and mimic other conditions. If you experience intense pain in your side or back, pain while urinating, or notice any blood in your urine, please, for your safety, go to a doctor immediately. They will do proper imaging tests like an ultrasound or CT scan to confirm. Always get it checked.
