How to check for kidney infection?

I've been having some pain in my lower back and feeling generally unwell. Could this be a kidney infection? How can I check for one, or what symptoms should I look out for?

Hey! So for a kidney infection, you can't really 'check' it yourself, but your body definitely gives hints. If you have a fever, back pain (especially on one side), and it hurts to pee, or your pee looks cloudy/smells bad, then it's probably an infection. My friend had this, and she had to go to the doctor for a urine test and antibiotics. Don't ignore it!

OMG, kidney infection sounds scary, but don't stress too much! You'll know if something's wrong because it usually comes with a fever, chills, and pain in your back or side, like near your ribs. Plus, peeing will be painful or frequent, and your urine might look off. Just go to the doctor ASAP for a urine test, okay? They'll fix it.

For a kidney infection, similar to how I manage my thyroid, early detection and a doctor's input are vital. You'll likely feel a lot of pain in your back, possibly a high fever, and really uncomfortable peeing. These symptoms are a strong signal to get a urine test done. Don't wait around, as untreated infections can get serious.

For someone with diabetes, any infection, especially a kidney one, needs immediate attention. You can't check for it at home, but the symptoms are quite noticeable: sudden fever, severe back or side pain, and painful or frequent urination. My doctor always says to get a urine culture done as soon as these symptoms appear. Don't delay, it can affect your sugar levels too.

Kidney infections are not something to self-diagnose. If you have symptoms like fever, back pain, and painful urination, you need a doctor. The tests are usually a simple urine test and maybe a blood test, which are not too expensive. Many government labs offer them affordably. It's better to spend a little now than face bigger costs later if it gets serious.

My son had a kidney infection once, and it was quite scary. The main signs for him were a sudden high fever, chills, and he kept complaining of pain in his lower back/side. He also had painful urination. You can't check at home, but these symptoms mean you need to see a doctor for a urine test right away. They usually prescribe antibiotics.
