How to calm ear pain?

My ear started hurting really badly last night, and I couldn't sleep. It feels like a dull ache but sometimes sharp too. What can I do to calm ear pain, maybe some home remedy, until I can see a doctor tomorrow?

Ear pain sounds really annoying and painful! I've heard warm compresses can help, but is it safe to put anything *in* the ear, like oil? Or is it better to just take pain relief and see a doctor? Asking for general knowledge here.

For ear pain, especially if it's severe, don't mess around. My health app usually tells me to track symptoms and contact a doctor ASAP. A warm compress outside the ear might give temporary comfort, and you can take OTC pain relievers like paracetamol, but an ENT specialist needs to check it to rule out infection or other issues. Don't delay.

Ear pain can be a symptom of various things, from a simple earwax blockage to a serious infection. It's really important to get it checked by a doctor, preferably an ENT specialist, rather than trying home remedies that might worsen the situation or mask an underlying problem. Always prioritize proper diagnosis.

Ear pain, especially if sharp or persistent, warrants a visit to an ENT doctor. They can properly diagnose the cause, whether it's an infection, fluid buildup, or something else. Ask them clearly about the treatment plan, any specific ear drops or antibiotics needed, and how to prevent recurrence. Don't self-treat, as it can be risky for your hearing.

Ear pain needs careful attention. While a warm compress on the outside of the ear can offer some comfort, please don't put anything inside your ear without a doctor's recommendation. I've learned with conditions like PCOS that self-treating can sometimes do more harm than good. Get it checked by an ENT specialist to be sure.
