How to calm down a fever?

My granddaughter often gets a high fever very suddenly, and I always worry. Beyond giving her paracetamol, are there any traditional methods or things we can do at home to help calm down her fever quickly and make her more comfortable?

My doctor always emphasizes that fever itself is not the enemy; it's the body's way of fighting infection. For symptomatic relief and to bring it down, he recommends paracetamol at the prescribed dosage. Also, lukewarm sponge baths can help. Hydration is crucial, so drink plenty of fluids like ORS or clear soups. If it's high or persistent, always consult a physician to find the underlying cause.

Oh no, fever is the worst! Don't stress too much, it happens to everyone. Just take some paracetamol, maybe a lukewarm bath, and seriously, just chill. Binge-watch something, sleep it off. And drink tons of water or nimbu paani. If it doesn't budge in a day or two, then call your doc, okay?

When my kids get fever, I first check their temp. If it's high, I give them paracetamol as prescribed by our pediatrician. Then, lots of fluids – water, juice, ORS. I also do lukewarm sponge baths, not cold ones, to bring the temperature down. And make sure they rest plenty. If it doesn't go down or they seem very unwell, we rush to the doctor.

Haan, fever mein toh bilkul aaram karna chahiye. Hum toh doctor se pooch ke paracetamol lete hain. Aur haan, geeli patti mathe pe rakho, thoda poora badan pocho. Khana light khao, khichdi wagerah. Aur paani bohot piyo, na dehydration ho jaye.

Beta, bukhar aaye toh sabse pehle aaram karo. Haldi doodh bhi garam karke pi sakte ho, woh faydemand hota hai. Aur bohot paani piyo. Hum log toh pehle thandi patti rakhte the maathe pe. Agar zyada bukhar ho ya kuch din tak na utre, toh doctor ko zaroor dikhao, theek hai?

When fever hits, I focus on very light, easy-to-digest vegetarian food. Khichdi with moong dal is excellent. Avoid anything oily, spicy, or heavy. Stick to clear vegetable broths and fresh fruit juices. Hydration is key, but make sure the fluids are not too cold. And of course, take your prescribed medicine and rest.

When I get a fever, I usually take a paracetamol tablet, rest a lot, and try to drink plenty of fluids like coconut water or soup. Keeping a damp cloth on the forehead really helps to cool down. Also, wearing light clothes instead of bundling up helps the heat escape. If it persists for more than 2-3 days, I always consult my family doctor.
