How to call in sick with a migraine?

I woke up with a really bad migraine today, and I absolutely cannot go to work. What's the best way to call in sick with a migraine without having to explain too much or sound like I'm exaggerating? The pain is unbearable.

Migraines are debilitating, not just a headache. When calling in, just say you're experiencing a severe migraine and won't be able to work today. No need to over-explain. If your migraines are frequent, please consult a neurologist for proper management.

Simple. Just send a message, 'Sir/Madam, I am having a severe migraine and won't be able to attend work today. Will keep you updated.' Don't give too many details. Your health is important, take rest.

Beta, migraines are truly very painful. Don't try to push through it. In my time, we just called saying 'tabiyat theek nahin hai'. Now you can specify 'severe migraine'. Most people understand it's not just a small thing. Take rest, it will pass.

When the head pains so much, it is a sign to slow down and listen to your body. Inform your workplace simply, and then focus on calming yourself. Rest, gentle breathing, and perhaps a warm herbal tea. All will be well, just surrender to the healing process.

Oh, I totally get it, migraines are the worst. When I call in, I usually just say 'I have a severe migraine and need to take a sick day.' Most employers understand. While you're resting, try a dark room, cold compress, and peppermint oil on temples if it helps you. Stay strong!
