How to bring fever down adults?

My body is aching and I've got a bad fever. What are the best ways for an adult to bring down a fever effectively? Trying to avoid going to the clinic if I can help it.

Please be careful with fever. I had a high fever that I tried to treat at home and it led to complications. Don't take it lightly. If it's high or lasts long, definitely see a doctor. They can rule out serious issues.

When the body is fighting, it's good to help it gently. Drink warm water, take rest, and think positive thoughts. The body has its own healing power. And of course, consult a vaidya or doctor if it persists. Blessings to you.

Take paracetamol if you have it and rest. Lots of fluids are important. Hope you feel better soon.

I just recovered from a bad fever myself! What helped me was having plenty of fluids, taking my prescribed medicines on time, and doing cold compresses on my forehead and armpits. And just sleeping it off as much as possible. Don't push yourself.

I'm curious, for adults, how high is too high for a fever before it becomes really worrying? I always just take some medicine and sleep it off. Hope you get well quickly.
