How to break up kidney stones at home?

I've been diagnosed with kidney stones and the pain is sometimes unbearable. I've heard people talk about home remedies to break them up. Is there anything effective I can do at home to help with this, or is it always medical intervention?

My doctor explained that for small kidney stones, say less than 5mm, increased fluid intake (especially water and lemon water) can help them pass naturally. They might also prescribe alpha-blockers to relax the ureter. But for larger stones, home remedies won't break them; you'd need medical procedures like lithotripsy or surgery. Always get a scan first to know the stone size and type.

Sometimes, our body just needs a little help from nature and a lot of positive energy. Drink plenty of water, maybe some tender coconut water for electrolytes. And remember to stay calm; worry can make things worse. But do see a doctor too, for peace of mind and guidance.

Breaking up kidney stones at home sounds a bit risky, no? This is not something to self-diagnose or self-treat. You really need to go to a doctor and get it properly diagnosed first. They can tell you the size, location, and type of stone, which is crucial for treatment. Don't take chances with your kidneys, yaar.

I had a small kidney stone once, and my doc told me to drink 3-4 liters of water every day. He also suggested lemon water and apple cider vinegar mixed in water, but only after checking with him. It helped me pass it eventually. But for bigger ones, or if there's severe pain, you HAVE to see a specialist; home remedies won't work.

Just like managing high BP needs regular checkups and doctor's advice, kidney stones also need professional medical intervention. Trying to 'break them up at home' without knowing what kind or size of stone you have can be very dangerous. Please visit a urologist to understand your condition and get the right treatment plan.
