From my experience of seeing mental health campaigns, advocating means speaking up and educating. You don't necessarily need a specific degree, but understanding the issues and being able to communicate them effectively is key. Volunteering with NGOs is a good start, I think.
It's a noble goal. Start by educating yourself and speaking up.
Mental health advocate? Good job. Start by learning properly about different conditions, no half-knowledge. Then join some NGOs, or start your own initiative, even small. Speak clearly, don't spread fear, spread awareness. Simple.
Becoming an advocate for mental health is a very good thing. It means supporting people and making sure they get the care they need. Just like for BP, regular checkups are important, so for mental health, advocating for timely professional help and reducing stress is key. You can join organizations that promote this.
