How to balance acidity?

I've been getting a lot of acidity lately, especially after meals. My chest burns and it's very uncomfortable. What can I do to balance this acidity in my stomach naturally?

Acidity can sometimes be a symptom of something more serious, so please don't ignore it or just try home remedies. If it's persistent or severe, you really should get it checked by a doctor. It's always better to be safe than sorry, and they can properly diagnose and treat it.

My doctor explained that balancing acidity often starts with diet. He recommended avoiding spicy, oily, and highly acidic foods like citrus and tomatoes on an empty stomach. Eating smaller, frequent meals instead of large ones also helps, and always finishing dinner at least 2-3 hours before bedtime.

I suffered from really bad acidity last year. What genuinely helped me was drinking a glass of lukewarm water first thing in the morning, and then a glass of buttermilk after lunch. Also, I completely cut out aerated drinks and reduced my coffee intake drastically. It made such a big difference!

When dealing with acidity, it's not always about 'balancing' it yourself. If it's persistent, you should definitely consult a gastroenterologist. When you visit, ask them clearly about your specific triggers, dietary modifications, and if any medications are needed. Don't hesitate to ask all your questions.

Acidity is such a pain! 😩 But don't worry, small changes can help. Try sipping on coconut water or a bit of saunf (fennel) after meals. It really helps cool things down! And avoid eating too late at night. You'll feel better in no time! ✨
