How to apply castor oil on eczema?

My skin gets really dry and itchy sometimes, especially in patches, and I think it might be eczema. A friend suggested using castor oil for it. What's the correct way to apply castor oil on eczema patches?

Eczema skin is very sensitive, so you must be careful. Always mix castor oil with a lighter oil like coconut oil first, as it is very thick on its own. Apply it gently with clean fingers after your bath while the skin is still slightly damp.

Castor oil is super sticky, yaar. Actually, trying to rub it directly on flared-up eczema might irritate your skin even more. Better to dab a tiny drop on a small patch first to see if it suits you before applying it everywhere.

In our days, we used natural oils for everything, but you have to be gentle with eczema. If you want to use castor oil, do it at night so it has time to absorb. Put on soft cotton gloves or socks over the area so you do not scratch in your sleep.

I would highly advise against using raw castor oil on broken or weeping eczema skin. Please consult a proper dermatologist at a reputed clinic first. They will likely suggest a safe, sterile emollient instead of heavy home remedies.

I track my skin flare-ups on my health app and noticed heavy oils sometimes trap heat, making my eczema itchier. If you use castor oil, apply a very thin layer and monitor how your skin reacts over the next 24 hours. Log any itching right away.

Applying that thick sticky oil is a mess, especially when you are barely awake at midnight. I tried it once and ended up staining my bedsheets more than healing my skin. Just use a tiny drop, otherwise you'll be stuck washing oily blankets all day.

Haan na, eczema itching is so annoying. If you are using castor oil, make sure it is cold-pressed and hexane-free. Just apply a tiny bit on the dry spots, but don't rub it too hard, okay?

Agree with the patch test tip. Always test castor oil on a small patch of normal skin first to ensure you aren't allergic.
