How to alleviate uti pain?

I think I have a UTI, and the burning sensation and constant urge to go to the washroom are really painful and uncomfortable. I'm trying to drink a lot of water. What else can I do to alleviate this UTI pain until I can see a doctor?

Please be very careful and do not rely only on home remedies for a UTI. I ignored my symptoms and drank barley water instead of seeing a doctor, and the infection spread to my kidneys, which required hospitalization. Go get a simple urine routine test done and consult a doctor for proper antibiotics immediately.

The first thing you need to do is drink lots of water to flush the bacteria out of your system. You can also mix a spoonful of baking soda in a glass of water to reduce the burning sensation when you urinate. Keep your hygiene clean and avoid tight-fitting synthetic clothes for a few days.

I was just reading up on this because my friend is dealing with it right now. Apparently, drinking unsweetened cranberry juice or taking cranberry supplements can prevent the bacteria from sticking to the bladder walls. Has anyone here actually tried it and found it helpful during an active infection?

A UTI literally makes you feel like you're peeing fire, it's the absolute worst! For now, make water your best friend and drink like you're in a desert. Avoid tea, coffee, and spices unless you want to add more fuel to that fire!

I use my smartwatch to log my water intake and it really helped me stay on top of hydration when I had a urinary tract issue. Aim for at least 3 liters of water daily, and track it so you don't forget. Also, remember to empty your bladder completely every time you go to the washroom.

Beta, in our times we used to drink barley water (jo ka paani) or tender coconut water to cool down the body and soothe the burning. It is very effective for mild discomfort. But do not ignore it if you get a fever or lower back pain, go see a doctor immediately.
