How to alleviate period pain?

My period pain has been really bad lately, almost every month it feels like a really bad cramp. I can't even focus on work or college. Are there any natural ways or tips to make it less painful?

While mild cramping is normal, severe period pain that stops you from doing daily activities should not be ignored. It could be a sign of endometriosis or fibroids. Please see a gynecologist for an ultrasound rather than just taking painkillers every month.

Honestly, don't just suffer through the pain. Get a portable heating patch that you can wear under your clothes at work, it is a game changer. Also, a hot cup of chamomile tea helps relax the muscles quite fast.

Drinking warm ajwain water or ginger tea works wonders to reduce bloating and cramps during periods. But if your bleeding is extremely heavy or the pain makes you feel like fainting, please skip the home remedies and visit a clinic immediately.

For me, placing a hot water bottle on my lower back and curling up in bed is the only thing that really helps. I also avoid cold drinks during those three days as they seem to make my cramps worse, though everyone's body is different.

I track my cycle on an app, and starting gentle stretching exercises two days before my period actually reduces my cramps significantly. Drinking lots of water and cutting down on salty snacks during PMS also helps prevent that heavy, bloated pain.

I get so anxious during my periods because the sharp cramps sometimes feel like appendicitis or something scary. If you are feeling overwhelmed, try taking deep breaths in a dark room with some light music. It helps calm down the body's pain response.
