How to alleviate lower back pain at home?

My lower back has been acting up recently, especially after a busy day. I don't want to rely on painkillers. Are there any good home remedies or exercises to alleviate lower back pain?

Please don't try complex back stretches or yoga poses you see on social media to cure your pain at home. If you have a disc issue, certain forward bends can permanently damage your nerves. Get it properly diagnosed by a doctor first.

I always panic that my back ache might be some spinal infection or kidney issue, which makes me super anxious. Try using a simple heated gel pad for 10 minutes to see if it's just a muscle spasm. If you feel any numbness in your feet, please see a doctor immediately.

My doctor advised that applying ice packs is better for acute pain in the first 48 hours, and heat should only be used for chronic muscle stiffness later. He also told me to avoid complete bed rest, as gentle walking actually speeds up back recovery.

Being a high BP patient, I have to be careful with long-term back pain as it keeps my stress and pressure levels high. I manage it with gentle daily walking and keeping my posture correct. Do get your regular health checkups done alongside managing pain.

My back hurts mostly because I sleep in weird positions like a curled-up cat on my tiny bed. A warm bath before sleeping and using a thin pillow under my knees helps me survive the next day's work hours.

My thyroid condition often causes muscle fatigue, making my lower back prone to quick strains. I highly recommend keeping your thyroid levels monitored and checking your Vitamin D3 and B12. Proper medical follow-up is very important.
