Honestly, the mental stress of this is just as bad as the physical pain itself. I used to feel so embarrassed and isolated because nobody talks about it openly. Please know that it gets better, just hang in there and don't feel ashamed to talk to someone.

Please be very careful and do not ignore this for too long. I kept trying home remedies until it got severely infected and required a painful procedure. If there is bleeding or the pain is constant, go to a good general surgeon immediately.

What you eat makes a huge difference in how much it hurts. Try having high-fiber food like oats, leafy vegetables, and lots of papaya to keep stools soft. Avoid spicy foods and green chillies completely because they will cause a massive burning sensation the next day.

Beta, you must try a warm sitz bath daily for some relief. Just sit in a tub of warm water with a little bit of salt for 15 minutes, it really calms the area. But if the pain is severe, do not rely only on this and show it to a proper doctor.

My doctor explained that avoiding straining on the toilet is the single most important thing. He prescribed me a mild laxative syrup to take at night and advised using a stool to elevate my feet. He also said not to spend more than 5 minutes on the toilet seat.

This is a very common issue so don't worry too much. Keep drinking at least 3 liters of water daily so things stay smooth. You can also use a soft cushion while sitting on hard chairs to avoid direct pressure on the area.

Ah, the ultimate pain in the backside! Honestly, staying away from my mom's spicy chicken curry was the hardest part of curing this. Just take a break from the spices and phone-browsing on the toilet pot, your bum will thank you!
