Please call your dentist immediately. They can apply a special medicated dressing that relieves the dry socket pain almost instantly.

Man, dry socket is a nightmare because you can't even enjoy basic ice cream! When I had it, I strictly ate cold, soft curd rice without any spices and went back to the dentist to get it packed.

I totally get it, that throbbing ear-to-jaw pain after tooth extraction is absolutely unbearable. Please don't drink anything with a straw as the suction will make the pain much worse.

My teenage daughter had this after her wisdom tooth removal. We gave her cold water rinses very gently (no spitting hard!) and took her back to the clinic for a sedative dressing.

My health app notes say that dry socket happens when the blood clot dislodges. Only a dentist can treat this properly with a zinc oxide eugenol dressing, so book an appointment ASAP.

During such intense dental pain, doing very gentle sheetali pranayama can cool the mouth and calm the agitated nerves. However, keeping the wound clean is most important.
