Google Slides doesn't have a direct text stroke tool. I usually just add a border to the text box or use Word Art if I really need outlined text.

Sitting and editing slides all night used to shoot up my BP. Keep your presentations simple using Word Art for outlines, and make sure to sleep on time.

I prefer simple slide designs so my eyes don't get tired. Use the Word Art tool for the stroke, and wash your eyes with cold water if they feel dry.

My neck hurts just trying to find these hidden settings. Just insert Word Art and use the pencil icon to change the border color, simple.

Use the Insert -> Word Art option instead of a regular text box. Once you type in Word Art, you can easily change the border color and thickness to get a perfect stroke.

You have to use Word Art. Regular text boxes in Google Slides don't support text outlining directly.

I totally get it, it is so frustrating when basic features like text stroke are missing. Just use the Word Art trick, it really saves a lot of time.
