How serious is kidney cysts?

During a routine check-up, my doctor found I have a few cysts on my kidneys. She said they are small, but I'm still a bit concerned. How serious are kidney cysts usually?

My brother was diagnosed with a cyst during a routine health checkup last year. The doctor told him it was harmless and didn't prescribe any medicine, just told him to drink normal amounts of water.

I have simple kidney cysts for the last five years and they haven't grown at all. If your doctor says they are 'simple cysts' on the ultrasound, you don't need to worry. Just do an annual scan to keep an eye on the size.

Keep your mind calm and trust the healing power of nature and doctors. Worrying only increases stress in the body, so stay positive and get a routine checkup done with peace of mind.

Agree with others, simple cysts are usually totally harmless. Just get an ultrasound done once a year to be absolutely sure.

Don't waste days stressing over this. Book an appointment with a nephrologist, show your ultrasound report, and get their clear opinion in one visit so you can focus back on your work.

I had a large symptomatic kidney cyst that was causing back pain and got it drained recently. It was a very simple daycare procedure and I was back to normal in two days. If it's not causing pain, you probably won't even need treatment.
