How school affects students mental health?

School has been really stressful lately with exams and everything. I sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if it's just me or if it's normal. How much does school actually affect students' mental health?

I used to panic so much about my daughter's exam stress and thought she was slipping into depression. But honestly, with a little support at home and talking to her teachers, we realized it is a very common phase. School pressure is real, but with the right family backing, kids cope up beautifully.

In our times, school was just about study and play, but nowadays kids have too much homework and competition. Sometimes they look so tired and quiet because of the pressure to get top marks. We must sit with our children every evening and just listen to them talk.

School stress is a major trigger for anxiety and sleep issues in teenagers nowadays. The constant comparison and heavy syllabus can cause genuine mental fatigue. As parents, we should monitor their sleep patterns and make sure they get some outdoor play time to refresh their minds.

God, the syllabus these kids have today is heavier than my monthly office targets! No wonder they are always cranky and stressed. If we don't let them breathe and just play gully cricket sometimes, their mental peace is bound to take a hit.

I constantly worry about how school peer pressure and bullying might affect children's minds. It is so scary because kids don't always share what is happening in the classroom. We have to be very gentle and create a safe space at home so they can express their anxieties without fear.

I totally get it, school can be an absolute pressure cooker with exams and the need to fit in. I remember feeling so overwhelmed with board exams myself. We really need to validate our kids' feelings instead of telling them to just 'study harder'.
