How prevalent is breast cancer?

My neighbor was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and it's made me quite worried. I want to know how common breast cancer is among women, especially in our country. Are there any general statistics for this?

I totally get it, just hearing or reading about cancer statistics can be so scary and unsettling. It is unfortunately the most common cancer among Indian women today. Please remember that early detection makes a world of difference, so do self-exams regularly.

With my toddler keeping me up till 3 AM, my brain is fried, but I know this much: it is very common now, even in younger women. My wife gets her routine checkups done regularly. Honestly, just stay off Dr. Google at midnight and consult a real doctor.

Actually, it is highly prevalent in metro cities now, yaar. Lifestyle and late pregnancies are some of the factors, apparently. But the good thing is that modern treatments are super advanced, so just don't skip those yearly clinical examinations.

In our families, we often hesitate to talk about these things openly, but the prevalence is indeed quite high in India now. My mother always said to stay calm and eat healthy, but she also made sure we got regular mammograms after age 40. Trust your doctor's screening schedule.

I panicked completely when I felt a small lump last year, thinking the worst since breast cancer is so widely talked about now. Thankfully, my doctor did a scan and told me it was just a benign fibroadenoma. While it is prevalent, not every lump is cancer, so stay calm and get checked.
